What's this blog about?

Keturah (author of this blog)
I have a variety of reasons for writing this blog.

  • Keeping people updated on our Peruvian sabbatical and adventures and reentry back to the US.
  • Helping family and friends feel connected to us even though we're far away.
  • Serving as an online journal of our time.
  • Giving me a creative outlet for writing.
  • Sharing/processing some of life's big questions.
  • Documenting the reentry process.
If you know me, you've probably figured out that I have opinions.  A lot of them.  And that I'm happy to share them with anyone at {almost} any time.  I like to think that as I've aged I've also grown in my ability to appropriately share, listen to others, and know when to speak and when to hold my tongue.

If you follow this blog, you'll have the opportunity to read things that are mundane, interesting, and thought provoking, and you'll probably find that you agree with some of my opinions and disagree with others.  I'll create some kind of series tags, so you can know in advance what you're getting into.  (E.g. cute kid stories, Peruvian life, Faith talk, etc.)

I am happy that I have wide and disparate circles of people in my life, including family, friends, work, and play (like the Living History Society of Minnesota).  I regularly interact with people of varying belief structures, socioeconomic statuses, genders, political bents, ecological views, generations, etc.  I value the inherent worth that people have and believe that my life is richer for having these varied relationships.   I hope that I can be a valuable cog in the wheel of human interactions.

I decided to cast the net wide, make my blog address freely available, and let the chips fall where they may.  I hope that you enjoy this, and if not- feel free to ignore the site.  :)
